Cryopreservation of primary human and animal cells is a major source of variability and cell loss.  The art of freezing cells for maximal viability requires cell-specific formulations and procedures. Now we know the process of removing cells from cryopreservation is equally important. There is no “one-size-fits-all” solution.

SciKon specializes in optimizing cell viability through media formulations and proven processes. The KryoThaw™ line of products was developed to address the need to improve viability and reduce plating variability following cryopreservation of primary human and animal cells.

  • Formulated for increased viability of cells when thawing after cryopreservation
  • Separates live cells, removes dead cells, eliminates debris, and gently disperses viable cells for cell culture
  • Cell specific formulations enable enrichment of specific lineages from mixtures.
  • Customizable for your cell type

Figure: Human cryopreserved hepatocytes were thawed using a simple one-step centrifugation in each of the 5 KryoThaw™ formulations. Cell viability was assessed using Trypan blue exclusion and expressed as percent of live cells retrieved.
